Networks consist of people both inside and outside of your current organization, as well as people inside and outside of your function (the type of work you do). This exercise helps you to gain insight into where people sit within your network. Over-reliance on one quadrant over others will pose some advantages as well as challenges.
Instructions:
1. You have 30 coins, $5 and $1, 15 each.
2. In the grid below, put a $ 1 coin for each person you know who is in a similar role / experience as you and who is a believer in your capabilities.
3. In the grid below, put a $ 5 coin for each person you know who is more senior to you (including search consultants) and who is a believer in your capabilities.
4. You don’t have to use all your coins – remember use it only for people who believe in you.
